Will I be charged the full adult cruise fare for my infant?

Can I use personal checks aboard the ship?
Some cruise lines will accept personal checks for purchases made on board, however some will not.
- The Purser's Desk or casino will usually cash checks for as much as several hundred dollars.
- Some cruise ships have an onboard ATM dispensing American dollars.
- Many cruise lines offer onboard credit systems, which allow passengers to sign for all onboard purchases and shore excursions.
- Passengers can sign up for the cards during the embarkation process or after boarding the ship by going to the Purser's Desk and presenting a major credit card. Some cruise lines will also accept cash instead of a credit card as a security deposit for the ship's onboard credit card.
- An itemized statement will be delivered to your cabin the last evening of your cruise.
What does 'guarantee stateroom' mean on a cruise reservation?
A Guarantee refers to the cruise line's promise that the passenger will sail on a stated voyage in a specified price category or type of cabin, at an agreed rate no higher than would ordinarily apply for that voyage, which MAY result in an improvement of accommodation at no additional cost.
When you book your cruise reservation you have two options:
Cabin assigned at time of booking:
- Your cabin is assigned at the time of booking. The benefit is that you know your cabin number and exactly where you are going to be on the ship.
- If you are traveling with friends or relatives who are staying in another cabin this works well because you can have cabins assigned next to each other.
- When you have your cabin assigned at a later point in time this is called a Guarantee, because you are guaranteed a cabin in the category** you have purchased (or higher). It is just that the exact cabin has not been assigned yet.
- The benefit of going with a guarantee cabin is that you may be able to save a little money, and there is always the possibility of being moved up to a nicer cabin.
- If you do not need to have your cabin located next to another cabin this may work well for you.
How much of a deposit is required to hold my cruise reservation?
The amount of deposit for your cruise will depend on when you make your cruise reservation and how long your cruise is.
- If you make a reservation within the period when final payment is due, you will be required to pay the cost in full, and no deposit will be accepted.
- If the cruise reservation is booked with plenty of advance notice, deposit amounts can vary. As a general rule, expect to pay anywhere from $150.00 to $500.00 dollars per person as a deposit, depending on the length of your cruise.
- A lower deposit is required for a shorter cruise, a larger one for a longer cruise.
- Keep in mind that your deposit may also be higher if you decide to cruise over a holiday time frame.
Can I book multiple cabins at once for my cruise?
Currently, only one cabin can be booked at a time online.
- If you need more than one cabin, you will need to book one reservation, then repeat and book the others.
- For assistance by phone, please contact a cruise expert at 866.338.9536.
Can I use traveler's checks and other currencies while in port?
U.S. dollars and traveler's checks are accepted in most ports.
- Many Purser's Desks will cash or exchange travelers checks, large U.S. bills, Canadian dollars, and British pounds.
- The Pursers' Desk also provides currency-exchange information for each port.
